Olga & Katya
The project was initiated by choreographer Olga Tsvetkova and photographer Katya Malygina during pandemic time. We were deprived of access to studios and theatre spaces and as a consequence we began to use nature as our only stage. For our research we used only natural resources, the bare body, the mobile phone (Samsung) and our artistic gaze. We avoided using any additional scenography, only the light of the sun (sunset and sunrise) and our hyper attention to the outside world. Using our sensitivity and situation, in which we ended up together during isolation, we wanted to draw the attention of the viewer to the dancing reality.
This shared project was born to inspire people, who were stuck in four walls during pandemic closure. Our artistic collaboration started from ordinary walks, which transformed into the hunting for the choreography of the world. In this current project we work with black and white, because by our opinion this aesthetic helps to concentrate attention of the viewer on the essence of the things.
