Jane Gennaro - Bare Bones Art Show
Bare Bones brings together a collection of works by Jane Gennaro that looks at power models as dictators of behavior and identity. Fat, thin, awkward, broken, Gennaro strips her figures down to their bare bones, revealing skeletal figures that look stylish and sexy, as well as dysfunctional and even grotesque. Much of Gennaro’s work is built upon a fascination with the body as a container for humanity with bones being the structural core to our functioning. She also looks at bone structures of animals, mostly critters we think of as vermin. She pays her respects to nature, washing their bones clean in a kind of mourning ritual, honoring their outsized contribution to sustaining life on earth.

Patrick Meagher - Line Land, Garden Sculpture Show Opening
The Garden Show 06-20 is the first time Patrick Meagher’s complete series of Line Land sculptures will be on display. Each sculpture depicts a recurring symbol drawn from a quiet mind over a thirty year period of regular meditation. Together they create a walking meditation circuit where guests may enjoy the mind as a garden in which meditation equates natural cycles of mental, and emotional growth. Poetry by the artist accompanies each sculpture turning the walking meditation into an interactive art experience. Please RSVP for the opening reception and /or plan a semi-private viewing to enjoy the work as a walking meditation as intended by the artist. At the opening, champagne and oysters with the artists will be served between 5pm-7pm along with live music by Further Maritime and a festive Father’s Day brew.
