July Jury
Esther Rausenberg
As Executive Director of the popular East Vancouver Art Crawl, Esther is a fixture of the Vancouver Art scene. An artist in her own right, her photography has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally in Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, and Croatia and has been the recipient of BC Arts Council and Canada Council grants. Esther, along with Glenn Alteen & Barbara Cole launched Save the Blue Cabin and in 2019 established the first floating artist residency. Esther was twice appointed to the City of Vancouver’s Arts and Culture Policy Council and in 2016 appointed a Trustee of the Vancouver Art Gallery. She is on the Board of Governors at ECUAD.
Shannan Calcutt
From the Sydney Opera House, to Saskatoon's Wash 'n Slosh Pub, audiences, pre-covid, could see Calcutt nightly on the Vegas Strip, attempting to sell her homemade breast implants in Cirque du Soleil's ZUMANITY. Calcutt has a Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Dramatic Media (University of Nevada, Las Vegas), a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance (University of Victoria) and is a graduate of the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre where she studied with several of the masters. She studied improvisation with The Second City and is also a writer, director and workshop facilitator.
Joan Helen Farrenkopf
Joan is known for her interdisciplinary practice in place making, performance, and large interactive public installations. Her practice revolves around the reuse of historic structures and active involvement in ethnic, diverse communities. Joan is a journalist/podcast producer for the 58th International Art Exhibition, the Venice Biennale, and current contributor to the Yale University Archives and the Museum of the Invisible. She exhibited an interactive public performance "You Are My Relative" at Berlin's City Center, Weltzeituhr and in Moscow, Russia at the Rodchenka Art School. She received an MFA from Syracuse University.
Lisa Turner
Lisa Turner is the Creative Director of Quake Studio, producing work that synthesize organic forms with industrial design. She is active member of the Vancouver Art Gallery, serving as a volunteer trustee and Chair of the Capital Campaign for the new building. With deep roots in the Pacific Northwest, Lisa creates one-of-a-kind arts and design that re-imagining preconceived ideas of Pacific Northwest design. Inspired by nature, and creative collaboration, her Quake studio creates small, exclusive batches of beautiful objects for those who graciously appreciate design and quality.
