Bronwen Moen

"Shelter in Place", acrylic and spray paint on panel, May 2020

Inspired by the chaotic embodiment and contained/restrained energy from the current restrictions -- while the rainbow colours still finding their place of hope and possibility.

Originally from British Columbia, Bronwen Moen moved to Montréal, Québec in 2006 where she completed her Masters of Fine Arts at Concordia University in 2013. Her work in painting, drawing, and performance focuses on the vibrant materiality of the human form within the natural and manufactured world. As a dancer and performer she draws deeply from a physical practice that provides a map of deepening connections with others and self; sensations and images of the clumsy chaos of collaboration and interrelatedness.  The foundation of her painting also extends to photography, illustration, large-scale puppets, and sets and props within TV/film and theatre productions.
