“The social distanced virtualisation of reality in Vondelpark Amsterdam”

150 x 242 cm acrylics on paper

For the last 7 years I have been working on a series of collage drawings and paintings called “Interface”. It is about the literal interface as the mediator between our human face/hands and a machine, but also about: the rise in Renaissance of the Human Face as an Image, interesting enough, and the fall of it eventually into a robotized and fragmented world.

A robotized world could be the SARS-immune outcome of the period of severe pandemic(s) we experience right now.

My preference is for series is, because I can dive deeper into one subject. Just like a novel, after a few years the series gets sort of saturated and is finished.
