Giselle Liu and Mansi Patel

Silence takes my breath
In between the faithful cries Am I earth or sky?

In honour ‘of the moment,’ “When Breath Takes Flight” is collaborative work between Giselle Liu and Mansi Patel. Each flying form traces the wave of emotions from grief to faith during these uncertain and chaotic times. Deconstructing and spatially choreographing movement phrases over time, we designed these unique elements on the digital platform (in an architectural space setting). Each elemental form evolves and progressively shifts and accentuates the essence of how energies of our bodies transform in space and time. Movement in stillness gives breath to a moment of transcendence and hope.

Giselle and Mansi are a collaborative duo and currently Master in Fine Arts Interdisciplinary Studies candidates at Simon Fraser University. Both interdisciplinary artists, Giselle Liu is a dance artist and Mansi Patel is a designer.
